Bassano del Grappa
Bassano del Grappa is a city in the province of Vicenza, region Veneto, in northern Italy. It is located between the River Brenta and Monte Grappa Mountain. It is about 35 kilometers from the province centre Vicenza. The city is known for its Palladian bridge, white asparagus, ceramics and one of the best wines in Venice – the famous Grappa liqueur. Here are combined the fresh air, the crystal river and the picturesque landscapes and historical buildings. Bassano is ideal for the rural tourism and for those people, who want to get off the noise of the big cities and enjoy the marvelous silence.
Bassano del Grappa can be easily get via the airports of Treviso and Venice Marco Polo. To get the city itself you can hire a car or reach it by train.
The most popular attraction of the of Bassano del Grappa is the covered wooden pontoon bridge, which was designed by the architect Andrea Palladio in 1569. The bridge was destroyed many times, but was always rebuilt. On the bridge is also located the shop of Nardini Distillery, where the famous Grappa is sold.
